Apple's old work repost series: How far can you go if you want to give up young people?

At this time, Apple Daily stopped publishing a year of events, and specially selected ten old works to repost here, which is a commemoration and a refusal to forget. "The idea of giving up on young people is not something that happened in recent years. History proves it."

Foreword: In Hong Kong, there are too many digital codes, 8964, 71, 689, 831, 612, 101 (read: 11), 721, and even 2 million + 1. The real Hong Kong people must know the story behind them. Of course, the numbers are getting more and more Many, sometimes need to be reminded. What day is 624? It's the day the last Apple Daily was published, and it's been a year! I was fortunate enough to have contributed to the Apple website, but once Apple was destroyed, all the text, pictures and videos came to nothing. Some people have already put old articles back on the Internet, but there are too many. At this moment, I specially selected ten of my old articles to repost here, to commemorate and refuse to forget.

The original title on the webpage: German Film Enlightenment | "August Night and Fog" and "Silent Revolution" Young people resisting totalitarianism and being persecuted are true stories adaptation of history repeating itself?

In 2021, students from the University of Science and Technology set up a memorial on the campus to commemorate the first anniversary of Zhou Zile's death, and were ordered to suspend their studies for one semester by the school.

In 2020, the graduation ceremony of the Chinese University of China will be held online. There are still a group of students wearing graduation gowns and marching on the campus to observe a moment of silence for the anti-revision conflict. The school called the police, and many students were arrested and may be prosecuted under the National Security Law.

In 1956, in a middle school in Berlin, East Germany, some students eavesdropped on a radio program broadcast by the United States in West Germany, knowing that the Hungarian people were resisting the regime and were crushed by the Soviet army, causing heavy casualties. Before class the next day, the whole class observed a two-minute silence, which aroused the anger of the school and the Education Bureau, and vowed to reveal the mastermind behind the scenes. A word from the Secretary of Education: If you don't confess, you will graduate with your will! At least not in East Germany!

In 1939, when the Nazis were in power, they implemented a eugenic policy, arguing that some defective people should not reproduce the next generation, even a group of severely disabled people who were unable to take care of themselves. They felt that the country should not spend resources on these people and waste time. And money, "deal with" them as soon as possible, and euphemistically call it "disinfection" of the country, to clean the unhealthy genes in the blood of the nation. Some hospital executives even use this to eliminate dissidents.

The latter two events were both made into films, the former being "Fog in August" (2016) and the latter being "Silent Revolution" (2018), both German films.

"August Night and Fog" is a story about a special hospital. It is very clever to tell the story from the perspective of a thirteen-year-old boy. The audience is easily worried about the safety of the protagonist. This special hospital is a children's hospital. Most of the patients suffer from serious diseases, and many cannot take care of themselves. The hospital also accepts some homeless children. The protagonist Anse Ernst's mother has passed away, and his father is a mobile hawker and has no fixed address, so he is arranged to come to the hospital for temporary stay. As long as the father has a place to live, he can be taken home. And his father also plans to take him to the United States to pursue the American dream. Ans is smart and liked very much. He quickly became acquainted with the nuns and some residents in the hospital. The dean also arranged for him to help with simple tasks such as maintenance and cleaning. He himself was convinced that his father would come to pick him up soon. is relatively good.

A thirteen-year-old boy turned into a thorn in the head of the dean

Every once in a while, a group of sick children are sent to Berlin and never come back. It turns out that they were disposed of in Berlin. However, there were too many patients from all over the country, and the government required the hospitals to deal with it on the spot, and even sent special assistant nurses to assist in the implementation. Although it is the government's policy, killing a person can never be done justifiably, so the female nurse fed the sick child with juice mixed with medicine, and the patient died in his sleep the next day. They planned to deal with three sick children every night, and it was up to the dean to decide, but sick children who drank juice died every day, which was too obvious for discerning people like Anse and the nuns to see. When Ans was helping to feed the juice, he deliberately dropped the cup and saved the life of the patient. However, this passive and unequal confrontation could only be stopped for a while, and the patient was finally dealt with.

Ans, the nun and another patient were on the same front, trying to escape from the clutches, but unfortunately the hospital was hit by an air attack, the nun was crushed to death, and the patient injured another foot. Ans was determined to stay and advance and retreat with the patient. After the nun's funeral, An Si scolded the dean directly and resigned strictly. So one night, when deciding to deal with the list of three patients, Ans's name was included, even his assistant questioned: But Ans is a sound child? The film ends when everyone is worried about whether Ans can escape the disaster.

Then the film is explained in words. The film is based on real events. Ans was killed that night, when he was only thirteen years old. After the war, both the dean and the nurse were arrested and eventually convicted, but the sentences were disproportionate. Among them, the female nurse was only imprisoned for one year. After being incarcerated, she was able to continue working in the Children's Hospital, which is chilling to think of.

The story of "Silent Revolution" is set in 1956. At that time, there was still no Berlin Wall, and the railway linking West Germany had no cards. It was just that the guards got on the bus to check the documents before crossing the border. . One of the protagonists often crosses the border to pay homage to his grandfather. A class of middle school students in the play are basically the same as the students in other places. They are preparing for graduation, planning for the future, flirting with dating, and sometimes fighting, but sometimes they also talk about politics seriously. The uncle of one of the classmates, who lives alone in a remote area, has an American radio station that can receive broadcasts from West Germany. A class of students met from time to time to listen to the radio, so they knew that the people in Hungary were resisting, and later they learned that the Soviet army was crushing and causing casualties. Everyone felt sad. On the second day of class, the whole class was silent for two minutes to make a statement. .

The head teacher didn't know why, so he didn't answer all ten questions, thinking it was a plan against him, and reported to the principal, but alerted the Education Bureau and sent someone to investigate. A round of coercion and inducement, and the differentiation method of black police and white police, intends to break them one by one. The classmates have not yet entered the WTO. Although everyone promised to advance and retreat together, it is obviously too young to play this kind of political game. In addition, the family backgrounds of several main characters are also unique. For example, a father is a high-level party leader, and Lansi's parents are a tragedy for Huangsi's children. Another father believes in the government and also believes that his position in the factory is to build the country. He is also proud of his son's preparation for college and can serve the country even more. However, in the face of this disaster that may ruin his son's life, That feeling of helplessness and helplessness, in today's Hong Kong environment, I believe many people feel the same way.

A class of middle school students in the play, basically like students in other places, are preparing to graduate and plan for the future.

Later, the director of education went out in person and vowed to take out the mastermind behind the scenes, and even threatened to cancel the graduating class and not everyone could graduate from East Germany. Originally, a group of young people made a small gesture of solidarity because of the enemy's mutual hatred. Now they have been on the line to the crime of subversion of the country. As the investigator said, prepare to sit for ten or eight years! The film revolves around several main classmates, different family backgrounds, different personal attitudes, and different struggles, which are interlocking and interlocking, which is quite fascinating. In the end, only four of the more than twenty students in the graduating class stayed, and the rest fled to West Germany during the Christmas holidays when many people came and went.

There are no people here, there is a place to keep people, let us fly, we will fly far!
