Matters Web App

Talking to a team member at Matters meetup today, I noticed that the Matters website already supports some features of the Progressive Web App.

To put it simply, this is a type of website that is packaged into a current App, which can occupy an icon position on your mobile phone screen, and it operates much like a general App.

This mode was formerly known as "standalone mode", which is a feature of the iPhone's early development. Google has further promoted this development method in recent years, so it has better support on the Chrome browser of the Android system. As for the iOS 12.2 released by the iPhone a while ago, the relevant elements are further added , and the previous page can be slid in from the left edge of the screen, making this mode finally enough to use, you can try:

  1. Open the matter.news homepage in Safari and press the share button
  2. Click "Add to Home Screen"

How do you feel about this App form? Everyone can try.
