Behind the Doll "Century Fairytale Wedding"

If you have seen the musical movie "The Greatest Showman", you must be deeply impressed by the unhappy "General Tom Thumb" who is 99 cm tall. In the 1860s, among the petite performers at the Barnum Circus were Commodore Nutt, the doll queen Lavinia Warren, and her sister Minnie Warren. And the life of General Thumb Tom is not completely as tragic as the movie. He has earned tens of millions of wealth due to his high popularity in real life. He even offered a lot of money to bail and rescue Barna when the head of the regiment was in financial crisis. um.

General Tom, who later won the favor of the trumpet beauty Lavinia in the same regiment, held a fairy tale wedding of the Doll World with 20,000 people in the church on Broadway Avenue in New York, which also caused a big traffic jam in New York City at that time. Although the two are genuinely in love, it is also one of Barnum's marketing strategies.

Of their four petite actors, the real tragic figure is the younger Brigadier General Nat. He and Lavinia joined the group one after another. When he was young, he fell in love with Lavinia at first sight, and continued to express his admiration and pursuit of her small and beautiful.

However, Lavinia, who was 21 years old at the time, told the regiment leader that she felt like a mature woman with sound body and mind, and had no interest in Brigadier General Nat, who was only in her teens, and only regarded him as a little brother, Brigadier General Nat. Of course never gave up! Until the Thumb General Tom joined the regiment, and soon fell in love with Lavinia. The two trumpet heroes are even more mistaken because of the beauties, and they often fight backstage.

At the time of the burning eyebrows, Brigadier General Nutter once asked the head of Barnum to express his position. He believes that love should have the so-called "first come, last arrival". He hopes that the head of the group can stand on his side and let him marry Lavinia. . Helpless, the head of the head showed that he must respect Lavinia's own choice, and was regarded as a betrayal by Brigadier General Nat, and he was dissatisfied with the head of the head.

Brigadier General Nat left in anger for a while, always worried about the day when the goddess was taken away by Hengdao. When he took leave and returned to New York, he learned that General Thumb Tom had already proposed to Lavinia at the regiment's mansion, and she readily agreed! Captain Barnum also vowed to offer them an unprecedented engagement and fairytale wedding.

Lavinia had inquired about Barnane's opinion of Tom beforehand, and he only hinted at that time: "The wealth earned by this actor is quite impressive!"

After Brigadier General Nat found out, his whole heart was broken into thousands of pieces. At a young age, he even thought that he would never fall in love with other women again in his life, and his character gradually fell into a self-sacrificing cynic personality.

When Captain Barnum invited him and Minnie to be the best man and bridesmaid at the wedding of the century, Brigadier General Nat refused and gave him no favors at all. Until the last moment, General Tom, when he mentioned being the best man to him, he agreed without thinking about it.

He responded to Barnum: "You're not the party to the marriage, so you didn't even ask me! But when the party invited me, of course I agreed!" A best man like a supporting role prop is the cruelest thing in the world. So he hated the pain Barnum and Tom Thumb had inflicted on him. (Text / Tizi Mo)
