"The Eyes of Different Species" Experience from Watching the Play | "Petish" Ruan Opera Troupe Script Farm VII

2020 Chiayi Small Theater Festival "Alien Eyes", three days from 10/16-10/18

Chiayi County Performing Arts Center/Script Farm Performing Arts Hall

The Ruan Opera Troupe Script Farm has been running for many sessions. The origin is introduced:

In the development of drama in Taiwan, "script creation" is a frequently discussed issue; it is also a long-standing predicament and bottleneck. Founded in 2003, the Ruan Opera Troupe aims to create "popular theater" and uses Chiayi as its creative and development base. Therefore, since 2013, we have cooperated with Mr. Wang Youhui, the art consultant of the troupe, to launch the "Script Farm" project. It is hoped that through the invitation and cooperation of planned script writers, and through the production and publishing plan of the troupe, more and more contemporary Taiwanese will be created. Closely integrated script works have been created and published, and have been recognized and understood by more people.

The above section is from the official website, and I think this method is very good, and it constantly generates new works. The way of reading the play also makes the cost of turning the script into a performance less expensive, and there is also the participation of the community in the process.

In summary, the following contains

Nguyen Troupe's Script Farm VII: "The Pet"

The form of performance and the content of the plot, the script may be performed and published in a different way later, please turn left if you are not full of comedy.

A lesbian couple broke up peacefully. On the eve of the move, various visitors came while packing, and they peeled away the origin and collapse of love, and the life of modern people and many small blessings. The absurdity and the everyday are presented together, no matter how big or small, it is just an inconspicuous one-day scenery in the city. Today passes, tomorrow the sun will still rise.

The above is recorded from the plot introduction of Wenxuan (lazy), and the content of the experience will no longer specifically explain the details of the plot characters, and write it as it is.

Very realistic and delicate modern drama, I like it very much. Probably my favorite of the six episodes in this drama. The performances of the actors are very lively and can be very immersed in it. The actors are also young, and perhaps similar life experiences allow him/them to improvise very naturally.

I have always restrained myself from becoming a character, and I spontaneously spit out the following:

"Isn't what time do you guys accept this? It's me who has to move downstairs, into a car, drive, and then upstairs."

"Uh, can the CDs be put together...? Now is not the time to open Zhang Xuan, Chen Qizhen or some independent band's singles one by one, right?"

"Wait in 202 for a few years now? I listen to YT for free. Otherwise, isn't it bad to subscribe to the Spotify family plan? What? You need to save your money to buy a vinyl record player... uh... ok, ok."

"It's time to break up and move. What's the logic behind bringing an ex who claimed to be 'just a friend'? Is the Shura field not enough? This is the Asura Hell Triple Rashomon."

There was a constant stream of emotions, and I knew the script was great. Recalling the images of all kinds of gay friends around me, it's not that the spectrum can be divided into roles and the spectrum is too rough. The stars and the number of Milky Way sands may be compared. (Tell me about the author's sexual orientation, straight male, straight in the center of the red heart straight ball, and I don't know why I have a circle of gay friends.)

The conflict between the opening film, the background of the set and the props prevented me from entering the play. The opening made me think that this is a stage that wants to construct a three-dimensional surreal, starting from the point, line and plane. But the props stacked on it are very lifelike and realistic.

If you want to match the script's "narrator", "word by sentence" and "stroke by stroke", then the opening scene and the setting make sense. But maybe the props should be simple geometric shapes, primary colors, solid color cuboids, polyhedrons, cylindrical cones, spheres, etc.? A little grumble in the beginning.

Or not so rational, the image of wall cancer is very important in the play. It's a big theme of living in a bad space, plus a lesbian partner who can pet a cat and live for seven years. Everything will break:

"How can freezing be bad? ''Nothing can't be broken. 』

The title of the play "Can Pet" refers to the abbreviation of pets allowed in rental apartment suites. Very realistic, can or can not consciously divide two different life forms in the audience. Incompatibility with the set.

As the story progresses, the narrator's face gradually blurs. From suspecting Tenant A, to realizing it's a cat, to realizing it's a dead cat... and then I don't know the function.

The opening mime came to an end, and after the dialogue started, it was quickly able to integrate into the subtle and naked interaction between the lines and the characters, which was extremely realistic. Looking forward to how the full form will be presented in the future. Perhaps the realism of the plot and the sheerness of the set can be absurdly different.

The narrator pulls it out of the script, I guess, to imply to the audience: This is all subjective, and very subjective. In the top plus apartment, the supporting roles of various characters who participated in the breakup and moving are relatively flat. On the one hand, there is no space for everyone to be three-dimensional, and on the other hand, it is also viewed from the narrator's subjective perspective.

The landlord, Mr. Su, is used to landlords and family protection alliances. I discriminate in my heart but I don't say it, I care about it in my heart but I say I don't. At the drama review meeting, a teacher suggested that the character's makeup and the Taiwanese language seem to be flawed.

Personally, I'm fine in this regard, because the author also pinpointed a contrasting role as the heroine's mother. Director Liu, the church, and mouths do not accept the heroine's lesbian status, even though she has come out to her family.

The two roles are an interesting contrast. The socioeconomic status and intellectual level of the two are similar. The conflict and opposition at critical times still come from blood:

"Why are you talking to my daughter like this? 』

After the conflict, I think the function of the two characters ends.

The homosexuals I know may have relatively high initial values of empathy, understanding, and introspection due to their weak status. But often the person he/they loves, in the end, he/they may not understand. I don't think the condition of loving someone should be so high that you need to understand the whole world, it's too tiring and it doesn't need to be so difficult. This is not so much the nature of homosexuality as it is the nature of love. If Mengmeng and comrade are at odds with each other, then it may not be the only one who is unwilling to understand each other, and it should not be anyone's responsibility. Of course, I also reserve the possibility that most of the Guardian Leagues are so flat. It's not the point of this show.

The moving company eldest brother's opinion on the protagonist group in one sentence is:

"People like you. "I'm sorry, what kind of thing do you mean? 』『Knowledge bastard. 』

Everyone sees their stratosphere as three-dimensional, and the characters who are seen from a distance have to be flat. Under the subjective narrative, this also makes sense.

The rival play near the end has a bit of a literary accent, which is different from the life-like and multi-functional lines in front of it. The props in the scene and the tiredness of life are gradually cleared. When I read this paragraph myself, I think it may not be a realistic line, but Line's message dialogue.

"After that, did you ignore me? 』『I should be able to…return to the picture. 』

It feels like there are traces of chat room dialogue, just a conjecture. I don't read much about comrade literature, only Bai Xianyong and Qiu Miaojin. Some paragraphs in Qiu Miaojin's novel are copied from the diary word for word. The writing picture of the play that emerges in my mind is a reference to the predecessor's Line at the same time. guess.

Communication software sound effects are used extensively in the play, which has a better effect than text lines. How to choose the way of expression is a contemporary obstacle to the choice of emotional expression channels? Thanks to the development of technology, it is possible to express emotions in real time, in multiple ways, in language, text, telephone, video, poetry, messages, voice messages, contracts, money, publicity, novels, diaries, Facebook, IG, Line, drama, YouTube, BBS...

But back to the original, face-to-face, one-on-one, honest and honest conversation . Even if the whole world sees you as the same except for the two of you, it's still not easy. Embarrassed? Strange? Such conversations will not happen many times in a lifetime. If the nonsense people say in one's life is "normal", then the last sincere conversation with a certain person in one's life is bound to be described as "strange".

It is said that they become friends after breaking up, how many couples will really contact each other?

At the end of the play, Ann is the one who takes over the narrator's stick. It's not the one who "will be a novelist" in the plot layout; the one who is taken care of, financially and emotionally; the one who is in charge of acting like a spoiled child when there are only two of them; the one who expresses emotions directly. I think it's the finishing touch.

The viewing experience is over. I have the script, but in order to write the experience of pure viewing, I haven't read it yet. Quoting lines can take their meaning, not necessarily word for word. The writers, cast, staff are all great.
