【A brilliant speech and report, the three essential elements of success】

A presentation that prioritizes the audience, takes the audience as the protagonist, the speaker is a supporting role, and finally the speech that won the most applause.

Today is the annual mid-term report of CTPS. In this semester, there are also 8 groups that use the consultative problem-solving methodology to actually solve the real problems encountered by enterprises.

As for the groups that reported relatively successful reports and effectively communicated information today, the teacher pointed out a few important keys. These are the key points that I must pay attention to every time I give a speech or give a presentation on stage, and also the points that the speakers must pay attention to after watching many successful speeches.

As long as you can prepare these three elements before the report, it is easy to have a speech with thunderous applause:

1. Listener's state of mind:

The most important thing to report on stage is never the speaker, but the "audience". If you speak a bunch of very professional terms and show your strengths, but the audience falls asleep, is this a successful speech?

"Similar audience". If the object of the report today is the general public or students, it must use simple and easy-to-understand terms, plus detailed explanations and pictures to let the audience clearly understand the message you want to convey;

On the other hand, if you want to report to the owner or your boss today, you need strong evidence, professional data and insights to convince them.

These two very different speech modes can be extremely counterproductive if you get them wrong, so knowing who your audience is first is half the battle.

2. Less is more

If the time to report today is limited, and we have a lot of information to convey, there must be a choice at this time. Just list the most important information that needs to be conveyed.

Filling up the pages of the entire presentation in order to finish all the talk, usually the audience is miserable and can't find the key information instead.

The best way to present it is to use pictures and numbers to convey a message, which is much more effective than a full page of text. (I believe that every time you see the speaker type a whole page of dense words at a time, it is difficult not to fall asleep XD)

3. The last one, Animation

Humans can see things twice as fast as they can hear them, and it's difficult to do both at the same time. So when the audience has to see a lot of information at once and listen to you at the same time, distraction can lead to poor absorption efficiency.

If there is a lot of information on one page, it must be split into multiple parts, use Animation to type out the information in stages, and match it with your oral introduction, so that the audience can clearly know the location every time a new slide is played; follow you flow to go.

【Summarize】

In my experience of listening to many speeches, reports + my own speeches, if a speech can meet these three conditions, the report usually starts with 80 points. What's left is the charisma, the sense of humor, or the solidity of the presentation.

A presentation that prioritizes the audience, takes the audience as the protagonist, the speaker is a supporting role, and finally the speech that won the most applause.
