Zero resistance to change the experience after reading: every small move is the accumulation of change

Life has not been very smooth recently. I bought three books in the bookstore, so I opened this "Zero Resistance Change" first as the first step in trying to change my life.

Why do you want to read this book?

Recently, I feel very annoying and I am not very satisfied with my life. Although I have tried some changes, I still feel that my heart is not very happy, and I feel that I have not found my "flow", so I went shopping in the online bookstore. Bought three books, one of which is Zero Resistance Change, the first of the three.

Habitually write the reading start date on the first page, 6/8/2022. I silently told myself in my heart that after reading this book, I want to write about my reading experience, which is a kind of deliberate practice! Because I often get a lot of input (Input) by myself, but I am too lazy to do output (Output), I feel that this is not very good, so I hoped to use this book as a turning point in my mentality.

As everyone knows, I read this book in about ten days, and the speed is so fast that I feel a little guilty. Maybe I am very good at this kind of book with a little chicken soup (wrong). However, the author of this book is a professor, and I especially like to read books written by professors, because there are many citations in each chapter. From the full citations, I can find a few theories or researches that interest me, and then Digging further into those theories is just as fun as digging for treasure in a second-hand market.

What inspired me after reading it?

To sum it up in one sentence,

As long as you have the heart and believe in yourself, even if you fine-tune it little by little, you will eventually get to what you want to become.

Is it cliché enough?

When I read this book myself, I often feel that I understand the things mentioned by the author, but why can't I do it myself? I think this kind of situation should fall into a trap, that is, the so-called smart people are very good at thinking and thinking, but the part that is put into action is very small, because he (I) will feel that they know how to do it anyway. , I also know what will happen in the end, and then I want to say that there is no urgency to put it into action, just wait until then. (But "then" will keep being delayed, delayed, and delayed until I don't know which day)

After reading this book, it is more like reminding myself again that I should do it little by little, so that I can slowly reach the blueprint I want . The implication can also be explained that I have been less down-to-earth recently, and my so-called un-grounded attitude is more like the attitude of catching up on deadlines, or I will have a negative attitude and let him be. Three, seven, twenty-one, let’s talk about it after it happens, escaping the mentality of planning/pre-conceived is like the “What-the-hell effect ” mentioned in the book. In short, I don't like myself like this.

The book mentions a lot of little tricks, which can allow us to slowly develop small habits. In fact, to a certain extent, some of the sayings are similar to the book "Atomic Habits". Of these, my favorite arguments are the " Fresh Start Effect " & "Trust the Word Effect" , which I think works best in behavior.

The key point of the new starting point effect is to create the starting point by yourself, and the length of time from the starting point to the ending point, that is, frequency. For example, through a small trip/eating a big meal, you can create a new starting point to reset your own. Mentality or goals, but if you may lose your strength after a month, it means that you need another small trip/a big meal. If you can't afford to travel once a month or have high-end cuisine, you should think about the cost of creating a new starting point. Make sure that the cost of creating a new starting point is affordable and will not make your quality of life worse. Too hard. (Note: I found my little quirk, that is, the day I cut my fingernails very short, as a new starting point for my week)

Another philosopher, Locke's white board theory , is why some companies like to find inexperienced people to do things (excluding salary factors), to put it a bit harsher, it is easier to brainwash him/her. But what I want to say is, from my own experience, I really like the moment when I turn myself back into a blank slate , because it shows that I have the courage to let go of old ideas and be willing to accept new things (or accept willingness to Being brainwashed by new people and things), willing to start learning new things, etc., is a feeling of stepping out of your own small circle.

The translated rice cake of the " believe the word" effect is the "law of attraction", whether it is shouting to others or shouting to yourself, it may have the same effect, constantly telling the words you agree with or the goals you want to achieve . Fake it until you make it. When I heard this statement before, I thought it was stupid at first, how is it possible? Why lie to yourself like this? But gradually, I discovered that human beings are actually not that complicated, and sometimes it is easy to be deceived by manipulating them casually. Putting this on the good side means that we keep telling ourselves that we can do it, and eventually our dreams will come true.

Quote from Margaret Hilda Thatcher
Mrs Thatcher said that thinking is a force for repetition:
Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become your character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
What we think we become.
Thoughts will become words, words will become actions, actions will become habits, habits will become personality, and personality will determine our destiny. How we think and who we become

irresponsible summary

Although I don't know how long the new starting point I set will last, and whether I will give up halfway, I hope it will be a good journey, and it will be a restart after the epidemic (make a fist)

When the epidemic first broke out, I felt like there was a sense of doomsday. I didn’t know when the retreat would end, and I was full of anxiety and anxiety about the unknown. The time point comes to 2021, and I have begun to adapt to the daily life of the epidemic, and I live the life of Work From Home. start.

In 2022, I accidentally got the Omnicorn virus at the beginning of the year. It has been coexisting with sequelae for the past six months, and I don’t know when these symptoms will be lifted from the body. The physical and psychological states are not very stable, and the external environment is also turbulent. I was dangling around like I was sitting on a pirate ship (if I didn't, I would get hit to the ground). A few days ago, because my mother's badminton player was doing spiritual divination, I asked casually if I could try divination, and I thought it would be very accurate (rationally, I know this is a kind of psychology). ), but I really like a reminder point, that is, in this state where the sound wave is too strong, it will be bumped to the ground without shaking. For me, it is a kind of nutrient . I believe it for the time being, this vacillating state is one of the issues I have to face.

A bit off topic, in short, thank you for coming across this book, as the beginning of a chapter in my post-pandemic life, I will make good use of the tips mentioned in it to avoid letting me go back into the vicious circle and become that The person who looks like he hates.

To encourage it.
