Multinational regulators gather at DC Fintech Week to discuss stablecoin regulation

OECD Encourages Regulators to Create Uniform Crypto Taxation Rules
Regulators around the world are working hard to develop effective tax policies for virtual currency transactions. Recently, the IRS received a scrutiny on the issue from the government watchdog, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).
A recent report by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) proposes a framework that regulators can use to develop effective tax rules for cryptocurrency transactions. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development is a 37-member intergovernmental economic organisation founded in 1961 to promote economic development and world trade.
While a small number of countries (Grenada, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland) do not consider any transactions made by individuals to be taxable events, most countries tax crypto-legal transactions, purchases of goods and services through crypto-legal transactions and crypto-legal transactions .

Coinbase Releases First Transparency Report
The official Coinbase blog published its first transparency report , which disclosed government requests it received for customer account information in the first half of 2020. The report shows that in the first half of the year, Coinbase received a total of 1,914 requests for law enforcement information, of which 96.6% were criminal cases, 58% of the requests were from the United States, and 90% of the requests were sent by law enforcement agencies in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany.

Castle Island Capital publishes stablecoin report, worries about exchanges and new wallets boost stablecoin boom
Castle Island Ventures recently released a report titled "Crypto Dollars: The Story So Far". The report defines a cryptographic dollar (stablecoin), classifies existing stablecoins, and enumerates and analyzes market data to date. The report believes that stablecoins are more free, interoperable, and more transparent and auditable than the electronic dollar. The report pointed out that there are two main reasons for the substantial increase in the market value of stablecoins after March 12, 2020: one is the uncertainty about the security of exchanges, and the other is the emergence of wallets with better user experience represented by Zengo, which reduces the user threshold.

NomicLabs Releases JS Cryptographic Algorithm Library to Improve Ethereum Developer Experience
NomicLabs announced the release of ethereum-cryptography , a JavaScript cryptography algorithm library designed for Ethereum, to get rid of the dependency on the node-gyp component. Ethereum needs to use a large number of cryptographic algorithm functions, and most of the cryptographic algorithms in the JavaScript language were implemented based on the dependencies of the node-gyp component. This creates problems: too long to build the project, having to use native development tools, difficulty debugging errors, etc.

Aragon settles with Autark
